Seasonal Wellness: Spring Acupressure for Renewal and Energy
Seasonal Wellness: Spring Acupressure for Renewal
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, each season corresponds to different organs and energies. Spring is the season of the Liver — the organ responsible for smooth energy flow throughout the body.
Spring in TCM
- Element: Wood
- Organs: Liver and Gallbladder
- Emotion: Anger, frustration
- Direction: Upward, outward expansion
- Color: Green
Spring is a time of renewal, growth, and fresh starts. When liver energy flows smoothly, we feel energized, creative, and balanced.
Spring Acupressure Points
1. LV3 - Taichong (Liver Rush)
Located on the top of your foot, in the hollow between your big toe and second toe. Press firmly for 1 minute on each foot.
This is the most important point for smoothing liver energy and relieving stress.
2. GB20 - Fengchi (Wind Pool)
Located in the hollows at the base of your skull, between the two large neck muscles. Use your thumbs to press upward for 30 seconds.
Excellent for spring headaches, eye strain, and neck tension.
3. LV14 - Qimen (Cycle Gate)
Located below the nipple, in the sixth intercostal space. Gently massage in circles for 30 seconds on each side.
Helps ease frustration and supports healthy liver function.
4. LI4 - Hegu (Union Valley)
We’ve covered this point before — it’s the general wellness point. In spring, use it to help release frustration and support overall energy flow.
